Ms. Powers was born and raised in New York, spent over 20 years of her adult life in Nevada, and relocated to Broward County, Florida in January, 2004. Ms. Powers received a Specialized Associates degree in Paralegal Studies in 1995. She then attended the University of Nevada Las Vegas (UNLV) and obtained her Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice in 2000, and went on to earn her Juris Doctor from the William S. Boyd School of Law at UNLV in 2003. In 2008, Ms. Powers returned to school and in 2010 earned her Master’s in Accounting and Financial Management from the Keller Graduate School of Management.

Ms. Powers was licensed by the Supreme Court of Florida on March 30, 2006, to practice in all Florida Courts.

Ms. Powers joined Zimmerman & Bayne as an Associate in May 2015, and focuses heavily on managing family law discovery. In addition to discovery management, Ms. Powers assists in handling complex divorce litigation including issues related to child custody, support, alimony, equitable distribution, paternity, domestic violence and related matters.

Prior to completing law school and relocating to Florida, Ms. Powers worked for almost nine years as a paralegal/Certified Legal Assistant, focusing primarily on family law. Following her relocation and for eight years prior to joining Zimmerman & Bayne, Ms. Powers worked in the legal division of a multinational consulting firm which provided comprehensive solutions for electronic discovery and litigation management.

Ms. Powers is a member of the Florida Bar and the Broward County Bar Association.
